Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com About a year ago, Microsoft introduced a new prompt in Windows 11 System Settings to alert users who were running Windows 11 on unsupported systems.

Shortly thereafter, Microsoft decided to add it to the desktop to make it more compelling. Originally, this watermark was only available in the Dev version, but now it seems to be extended to the Beta version.

Starting with Build 22557 (February 10), the new "System Requirements Not Met, Go to Settings Learn More" watermark began to appear on screens and in settings along with Windows build numbers.

Foreign media believe that this issue may also plague more Beta preview users (CTOnews.com Note: Even if you meet the hardware requirements, but after the installation of Windows 11 TPM will also appear watermark).

It is worth mentioning that about a month after the release of the Win11 22H2 version, Microsoft quietly updated the list of processors supported by Windows 11 22H2, but the minimum requirements have not changed, because Microsoft has only added some AMD, Intel and Qualcomm newly released chips.

Windows Processor Requirements:

Win11 22H2 Supported Intel Processors

AMD processors supported by Win11 22H2

Win11 22H2 supported Qualcomm processors

Microsoft has also released a support document explaining how to disable the message in Settings. If you find the "System Requirements Not Met" watermark on your desktop, you can disable it by doing the following.

To edit a group policy to turn off minimum system requirement watermarking, perform the following steps:

Open the Search window. To do this, do the following:

Right-click Start and click Search.

Press Windows +S on the keyboard.

Click the Search icon on the taskbar.

Type Group Policy in the Search field and click Edit Group Policy.

Go to Local Computer Policy> Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> Systems.

In Group Policy, Hide messages when Windows system requirements are not met, click Enable. If you enable this policy setting, messages about non-compliance with minimum system requirements do not appear on the desktop or in Settings.

You can also disable it through the registry.

Run "Regedit"(Windows key + R and type) or type "Regedit" in the Search box on the Taskbar

Find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\UnsupportedHardwareNotificationCache

Change SV2 DWORD value from 1 to 0 (SV1 is set to 0 for 22000)

Save and Restart

Of course, if you don't find "UnsupportedHardwareNotificationCache," you can create it yourself by:

Right-click the directory folder in Regedit

New> Item> Name it Unsupported Hardware Notification Cache

Add SV2 DWORD sub-item to this folder

Change SV2 DWORD value from 1 to 0

Save and Restart

Microsoft says it doesn't recommend installing Win11 on devices that don't meet Windows 11's minimum system requirements. Choosing to install Windows 11 on non-compliant hardware requires users to be comfortable with compatibility issues and risks.

Equipment may fail due to compatibility or other issues. Devices that do not comply with these system requirements are no longer guaranteed to receive updates, including but not limited to security updates.

If Windows 11 is installed on a device that does not meet the minimum system requirements, the following disclaimer applies:

This PC doesn't meet the minimum system requirements for running Windows 11-requirements that help ensure a more reliable, higher-quality experience. Installing Windows 11 on this PC is not recommended, as this may cause compatibility issues. If you continue installing Windows 11, your PC will no longer be supported and will not be entitled to receive updates. Damage to the PC due to lack of compatibility is not covered by the manufacturer warranty.
