CTOnews.com, February 13, EndeavourOS developer Bryan Poerwo recently announced the full release of EndeavourOS Cassini Neo ISO, which is based on the popular rolling release of Arch Linux.

Less than two months after EndeavourOS Cassini, the EndeavourOS Cassini Neo version upgraded the kernel version from the obsolete Linux 6.0series to the long-supported Linux 6.1LTS, providing better hardware support, especially for 12th-generation Intel Arc devices, where live ISO mirroring and installed systems can now be started.

This version also comes with an improved Calamares Framework graphics installer that now supports encryption when the replace Partition option is selected on the partition screen and no longer crashes when no option is selected on the Bootloader screen. The upcoming development version of Calamares 3. 3 is used in EndeavourOS Cassini Neo.

This version also improves installation support for slower machines, improves post-installation full recovery / hibernation support on some systems, and updates some core components to the latest version to fix recently disclosed security vulnerabilities, especially XOrg servers.

CTOnews.com learned that for ARM users, the new EndeavourOS version brings a new installation option, that is, the ability to download the EndeavourOS ARM image and install it through the dd command or Raspberry Pi Imager. This applies to supported ARM hardware, including Raspberry Pi 4 divine odroid N2 and PineBook Pro.

Users can download the latest EndeavourOS ISO version from the official website. Existing EndeavourOS Cassini users only need to run the sudo pacman-Syu command to update their installation.
