The new installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic power across the country has exceeded 120 million kilowatts, a record high, driving the installed capacity of renewable energy to exceed 1.2 billion kilowatts.

In 2022, the annual installation of renewable energy such as hydropower, wind power and photovoltaic power generation reached a new record high, accounting for 76% of the new power generation installed in the country, becoming the main body of the new power installation in our country. By the end of 2022, the installed capacity of renewable energy in China has reached 1.213 billion kilowatts, exceeding the national installed capacity of coal power, accounting for 47.3% of the total installed capacity of power generation in the country. The annual power generation is more than 270 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 31.6% of the electricity consumption of the whole society, which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of the European Union in 2021.

In addition, according to CTOnews.com information, the installed scale of hydropower, wind power, photovoltaic power generation and biomass power generation in China has steadily ranked first in the world for many years, and the key components such as photovoltaic modules, wind turbines and gearboxes produced in China account for 70% of the global market share.

The National Energy Administration predicts that by 2025, China's wind and solar power generation will double from 2020, and renewable energy will exceed 80% of the new electricity consumption of the whole society.
