CTOnews.com February 13 news, IDC released a report today that the number of Internet of things connections in China is expected to reach 5.6 billion in 2022 and will increase to about 10.25 billion by 2026, representing a compound growth rate of about 18%.

The report points out that the number of cellular network connections in China is growing the fastest. Thanks to the active promotion and construction of the Chinese government and operators, the number of "things Superman" has been realized, reaching 1.845 billion by the end of 2022. It is widely used in public utilities, smart manufacturing, car networking, smart home and other fields, and is expected to achieve 3.63 billion by 2026 at a growth rate of 21%.

In addition, the commercial process of low-power connections is accelerating, with nearly 600 million connections in 2021 and is expected to reach 1.49 billion by 2026. Fixed networks and WiFi will continue to play a major role in local stable environments such as homes and factories, accounting for more than half of the total connections, and the number is expected to increase to 5.11 billion by 2026.

CTOnews.com learned that IDC said that the consumer industry is the largest component of the Internet of things, and smart home and wearable are still important growth points, with nearly 5.98 billion connections by 2026.
