CTOnews.com February 13 news Mercedes-Benz has made OTA improvements to its two most popular models. The latest generation of C-Class and S-Class is now available with an upgrade to the MBUX Zero Layer infotainment system, with new programming and more useful features.

Mercedes-Benz officials said the new features are now available on Mercedes-Benz EQS and EQE, and this update applies to Mercedes-Benz C-Class (206 series/production in March and June 2021) and S-Class (223 series including Maybach/production from June to November 2021).

The new version introduces a map interface with a full-screen view and a new screen that supports customization, allowing you to quickly open different functions through various tiles without scrolling through submenus.

More interestingly, the MBUX Zero Layer system autonomously learns user behavior and remembers typical settings or routes they use most often. Once it collects enough information, it can offer personalized feature suggestions to users.

CTOnews.com gives you an example. If you call your family on your way home from work every night, it won't take long for the system to learn the habit and give you a prompt to call at the right time and place via the top menu. Of course, the owner also has a veto right. If you refuse the above service, it will be recorded by the system.

In addition, this OTA update also brings more AI features, such as so-called Energizing Comfort, which can help you relax during long trips.

Of course, this and other features are learned based on user behavior over time. Developers refer to these self-learning features as magic modules.

"We have been providing OTA updates since 2013. We give our customers the opportunity to access the latest software upgrades for their models anytime, anywhere. The Zero Layer update provides a 100% personalized and intuitive user experience, with all relevant features always in sight,"said Magnus Östberg, Chief Software Officer, Mercedes-Benz.
