On the morning of February 13, Beijing time, Jeremy Doig, chief technology officer of Disney streaming, will leave the company, and CEO Bob Iger is reorganizing Disney.

Doig jumped to Disney from Google in March last year and is in charge of the technical work of Disney +, Hulu and ESPN +. Aaron LaBirch (Aaron LaBerge) will take over the technical and product work that manages Disney's media business.

Mike Hanley, senior vice president of engineering for Disney's streaming division, told colleagues: "I have been informed that Doig will leave the company." Hanley will report to LaBirch.

Just a few days ago, Iger announced that Disney would cut 7000 jobs and adjust its corporate structure. At present, many Disney employees are in a state of unease. It is not clear how the layoffs will be allocated, and many people think that DMED and the Entertainment content Department (General Entertainment Content) will be the hardest hit. The programming and marketing departments of Disney's three major streaming services will be integrated into two separate departments, but technical staff will continue to go their own ways and serve the three departments.

Iger hinted that Disney might sell its stake in Hulu. Disney currently owns 2/3 of Hulu and the rest is owned by Comcast. Under the partnership agreement, Comcast could acquire a Disney stake worth as little as $27.5 billion as soon as January 2024.
