According to reports, the new generation of high-frequency, high-performance ultra-long-range millimeter wave radar, developed by Hebei Transportation Investment Group and Beijing Institute of Technology Academician Mao Erke's innovation team, has achieved six major breakthroughs in technology, namely, "China core", long-distance, full coverage, high reliability, high precision, and multi-scene, filling in the domestic technology gap.

The R & D team carried out the research on key technologies such as 94GHz multi-channel millimeter wave radar chip integrated design, taping process and packaging technology, and creatively adopted silicon-based and compound heterogeneous integrated packaging technology to realize the independent innovation and self-control of 92~96GHz broadband millimeter wave radar chip.

For the problem of limited energy accumulation of existing traffic radar, the R & D team creatively adopts complex MIMO waveform combination and cross-domain coherent accumulation signal processing method, which further improves the speed measurement accuracy and data refresh rate, increases the radar detection range to more than 1200m, and realizes high-precision, long-distance real-time tracking of the target.

The new generation of high-frequency and high-performance ultra-range millimeter wave radar further expands the detection angle, with a horizontal coverage of 50m, and increases the ability of overlooking detection, which can meet the requirements of target detection in large scenes without blind areas.

The new generation of high-frequency and high-performance ultra-long-range millimeter wave radar uses complex waveform coding and high-resolution estimation of target parameters to effectively solve the problems of radar co-frequency interference and detection distortion in complex traffic scenes and ultra-dense electromagnetic environment. Under the bad weather conditions such as high temperature, low cold, rain and snow, it can still maintain stable detection performance and support the realization of road traffic all-time and all-weather.

The new generation of high-frequency and high-performance ultra-range millimeter wave radar has obvious advantages over the current 24G and 80GHz radar in terms of range, speed, angular resolution and accuracy. The positioning accuracy of 0.2m can be maintained at both the near end and the far end, and the target speed, position, vehicle type and other information can be output in real time. The processing delay of a single scan of the target is lower than that of 70ms, and meets high transmission power and large working bandwidth.

The new generation of high-frequency and high-performance over-range millimeter wave radar is not limited by scene applications, and can sense traffic conditions all day and day over the horizon. Currently realized scenarios include high-speed vehicle target monitoring on normal road sections, detection of low speed and even parking in congested scenes, key vehicle tracking, dangerous driving behavior monitoring and early warning, global event detection and accident intelligent tracking, radar video perception linkage and other scenarios. Can be installed in straight roads, bends, ramps, cross-line bridges, hub interchange, etc., to achieve intelligent highway all-time, all-weather, all-road section real-time monitoring, to provide basic data support for all-weather traffic travel.
