The Ozhixin ED 90mm F3.5 Macro IS PRO (hereinafter referred to as "90Uniq3.5 Macro") is an M4Accorde 3 long focal macro lens with 180mm equivalent focal length and 4 times equivalent magnification. It was announced in August 2022 and officially released in February 2023.

Magnification and equivalent magnification "magnification" refers to the ratio of the imaging size on the focal plane to the actual size of the subject, which is a performance index to describe the close-up and macro ability of the lens. The maximum magnification of most lenses is less than 1, that is, the imaging size is smaller than the actual object, and the world can be recorded on the photosensitive element. Professional macro lenses usually have a magnification of 1:1, that is, the image size is the same as the actual object, helping us to see clearer microscopic details.

The magnification is independent of the size of the sensor. A lens with a magnification of 1:1 will have a magnification of 1:1 when used with any camera. But reflected in the photos, the proportion of the subject in the whole picture is not the same. The smaller the size of the photosensitive element, the larger the proportion of the subject; the larger the size of the photosensitive element, the smaller the proportion of the subject-the smaller size of the photosensitive element achieves a seemingly higher magnification.

In order to make everyone have a more intuitive understanding, we use full-frame camera, APS-C frame camera and OM-5 (M4bin3) to take pictures of the same microSD memory card (15mm × 11mm). It is not difficult to find that the proportion of memory card in the picture taken with OM-5 at 1:2 magnification is basically the same as that of full-frame camera at 1:1 magnification, and there is an equivalent relationship between them-equivalent magnification = magnification × equivalent coefficient.

Like the equivalent focal length, the equivalent magnification is essentially "earning" pixel density: the OM-1 / OM-5 with 90max 3.5 macro lens, the equivalent 2000 megapixel full-frame camera with 4:1 macro lens, or the 8000 megapixel full-frame camera with 2:1 macro lens. It does make money because there is no full-frame camera with 8000 megapixels or an 4:1 macro lens that supports autofocus and anti-shake.

Aozhishi 90amp 3.5 Macro is not only the first macro lens with 2.0x magnification, auto-focus and anti-shake function, but also one of the few long-focus macro lenses in recent years (equivalent focal length exceeds 150mm). At the equivalent magnification of 1.0, it can provide a longer working distance, less easy to disturb the subject, and easier to distribute light. At the same working distance as other lenses, it can provide higher magnification and show "wow" picture details. It can be said that the 90max 3.5 macro gives full play to the advantages of the M4Compact 3 camera system in the ecological and macro fields, and injects new power into the OM camera system.

Finally, a "scary" thing: when I finished shooting and was ready to return the camera, I found that there was an extra contact corresponding to the extended-range mirror near the mouth of the 90swap 3.5 macro. This means that when combined with MC-14 or MC-20 magnification lenses, the equivalent 252mm, 5.6x magnification, or 360mm, 8x magnification can be obtained-allowing tiny objects of about 4.3mm × 3.3mm to fill the whole picture!

Learn more about the mirror: the Ozhixin 90max 3.5 macro lens is portable, only slightly larger than a can of 330ml cola cans and weighs only about 453g. I originally thought that if the F2.8 aperture could be achieved, it would be acceptable for the mirror to be larger. But after getting the camera and installing it on the body of the OM-5, I do think it's just the right size.

Like most of the PRO series lenses, the Ozhixin 90max 3.5 macro also has IP53-level waterproof and dust-proof properties, ensuring reliability in all kinds of outdoor environments. Finally, there is a pick-up treatment at the end of the 90Lex3.5 macro lens, which can be used with a macro frame.

Control: the mirror is equipped with an electronic focus limiter, an anti-shake switch and a L-FN custom button, while the pull-down focus ring can quickly switch to manual focus mode (travel slightly more than 100°, limited position). The priority of the electronic focus limiter is higher than that of the manual focus ring, that is, the nearest focusing distance and maximum magnification can be achieved by manual focusing only after switching to S MACRO super macro mode.

Super macro: when you switch to S MACRO, the maximum aperture of the lens changes from F3.5 to F5.0 (you can feel some changes inside the tube), and then we can achieve macro magnification from 1.0x to 2.0x in the 2.6cm from 0.25m to 0.224m. We should know that the magnification is linear, and the magnification is increased by 2 times, which means that the area of the subject in the picture is enlarged by 4 times. The difference is actually very obvious.

The working state of ▲ from left to right is 1.0x, 1.5x and 2x: for macro photography, dispersion is the biggest obstacle to the details of the picture. On the other hand, the OZ 90amp 3.5 macro is equipped with 4 ED and 2 super ED lenses, combined with the optimization of the new generation image processing engine, it can effectively suppress the dispersion of the high contrast edge, and there is no color penetration problem in the out-of-focus transition area.

The 90Robot 3.5 macro also supports high-resolution shooting on the OM camera, giving us the opportunity to achieve an equivalent 4.0x macro magnification on 8000 megapixels. At this time, it is recommended to use a heavy tripod to maintain the stability of the entire shooting system, and with light equipment.

At this time, autofocus can greatly improve the shooting efficiency and avoid missing the best time. On OM-5, it can close focus quickly even if it is close and the light is not enough. It is believed that OM-1 will have a better performance.

In addition, having autofocus means that we can use the camera's computational photography function to achieve focus surround exposure and automatic depth-of-field synthesis. This is also difficult to do with manual focus lenses.

Anti-shake: the OZ 90amp 3.5 macro is equipped with an anti-shake lens and can synchronously compensate for pitching and swinging axial jitter when matched with products such as OM-1. Although rigorous macro shooting will use tripods, macro heads and other shooting accessories, but the anti-shake function is still very meaningful for macro lenses. In addition to improving the success rate of handheld shooting and expanding the daily shooting scene, anti-shaking will also be of great help for scene composition in high-rate macro shooting.

Macro sample films our studio seldom shot macro subjects before, and even the circular flash in front of us was purchased temporarily. Especially under the equivalent magnification of 4.0 times, it is really difficult to shoot clearly and look good. This is not to pull the grass for everyone: the heart of the Olympics 90 stroke 3.5 macro is intended for professional ecological, macro photographers, but we are not professional enough in macro photography to fully demonstrate its possibility.
