CTOnews.com, February 12, the latest data from China charging Union show that there are 41000 more public charging piles in January 2023 than in December 2022, and an increase of 56.1 percent in January compared with the same period last year.

As of January 2023, a total of 1.839 million public charging piles have been reported by the member units of the China charging Union, including 783000 DC charging piles and 1.055 million AC charging piles. From February 2022 to January 2023, about 55000 new public charging piles have been added every month.

In terms of rechargeable electricity, in January 2023, the total rechargeable electricity in the country was about 2.31 billion kWh, an increase of 170 million kWh over the previous month, an increase of 84.9% over the same period last year, and an increase of 8.1% over the previous month.

In terms of charging infrastructure, in January 2023, the increment of charging infrastructure was 202000, of which the increment of public charging piles increased by 34.1% compared with the same period last year, and the increment of private charging piles built with cars continued to rise, up 93.5% from the same period last year. CTOnews.com learned that as of January 2023, the cumulative number of charging infrastructure in the country was 5.411 million, an increase of 98.2% over the same period last year.

According to the data of the China Automobile Association, in January 2023, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 425,000 and 408000 respectively, down 46.6% and 49.9% respectively from the previous month, 6.9% and 6.3% respectively from the same period last year, and the market share reached 24.7%. In January 2023, sales of pure electric vehicles were 287000, down 18.2 per cent from a year earlier, while sales of plug-in hybrids were 121000, up 42.5 per cent from a year earlier.
