Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens South China Daniel Wu and Xiao Zhan for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, February 12 (Xinhua)-- Philips has launched its 2023 line of smart TVs, including the new flagship OLED+908, which will be available later this year.
The Philips 2023 OLED TV series includes the OLED708, OLED808 and flagship OLED908.
All Philips 2023 TVs are equipped with MediaTek's flagship Pentronic 1000 chip and an upgraded video chipset (Generation 7 P5 AI) that detects light conditions with new XYZ sensors, bringing its brightness, gamma and color closer to the indoor environment. In addition, Philips TV has shifted from Android TV to Google TV this year, with a more stylish user interface and some exclusive features, such as children's mode.
Among them, the OLED908 model uses LG's latest OLED.EX META MLA panel, covering 55, 65 and 77 inches, bringing 4K@120Hz 's Dolby horizon mode, which supports some games on the Xbox Series X.
According to Philips, the model uses a "microlens array (MLA)" similar to the dragonfly compound eye structure to achieve the peak brightness of the 2100nit, 70 per cent brighter than the previous generation. In addition, the new phone also has a built-in 80W Bowers & Wilkins3.1 sound system and Philips's next-generation "three-sided" technology.
OLED908 comes with a new remote control with a built-in battery and can also be recharged through the USB-C. This remote control has its own backlight and integrated motion sensor to automatically light up the backlight when you pick it up.
The 808 models cover 48, 55, 65 and 77 inch models, and models over 55 inches also use OLED EX (non-META) panels. These TVs have the peak brightness of the 1000nit and are equipped with a 70W 2.1channel audio system (42 inches is 50W).
The 708 series is the basic model of Philips, offering three 4K WOLED panels from 48 inches, 55 inches and 65 inches, as well as Dolby Horizon and Google TV. CTOnews.com Note: here are the prices of these televisions in the UK:

Philips confirmed that there are only two HDMI 2.1 interfaces that support 4K120 in OLED708, OLED808 and OLED908, one of which also retains eARC and is compatible with Dolby Horizon 4K / 120Hz mode as well as FreeSync Premium, G-SYNC and ALLM.
Next up is the latest MiniLED TV "Xtra series", divided into the 9308 and 9008 series, which will be available in 55-inch and 65-inch models and focus on cost-effective.
It will feature 120Hz, 98% DCI WCG panels, provide the brightness of 1000nit, and have a 64W 2.1channel Bowers & Wilkins sound system, as well as Kvadrat Audiomix fabric used on OLED+908.
Although it is not completely rimless like the OLED TV, it still looks like it also uses a dark ultra-narrow metal frame with a thin strip of brushed black gloss at the bottom of the screen to match the open frame bracket.
The 9008 series comes in 55 -, 65-and 75-inch versions, all with 4K120Hz 1000nit panels, 40W 2.0 sound systems and tripods. Of course, the "Xtra series" televisions also have built-in "three-sided splendor" technology.
