CTOnews.com Opera launched a new beta feature, adding a ChatGPT-based AI tool to its sidebar that provides users with a summary of the content of the article or web page they are currently reading.

We're excited to see solutions like Google Bard emerge and begin to build and deliver new experiences that previously seemed impossible,"Per Wetterdal, Opera's head of strategic partnerships and AI ecosystem, said in a statement.

Jan Standel, Opera's vice president of marketing and communications, said Opera is also developing other AI features to "enhance" the browsing experience and plans to add "popular AI-generated content services to the sidebar," but it's unclear how that will change.

As you all know at CTOnews.com, OpenAI launched ChatGPT, a natural language processing model, last November that has become a global hit. The tool takes the form of a chatbot that answers questions in a conversational manner and helps people generate code and various types of content.

In addition, Microsoft just launched a new version of Bing search engine (https://www.bing.com/new) and Edge browser this week, integrating the recent hot ChatGPT technology developed by OpenAI. Microsoft introduced that it is like having a research assistant, personal planner and creative partner when you search the Web.

The new Edge browser, in much the same way as Opera, will provide an AI-like co-pilot experience that can similarly summarize web pages or articles, or help users generate text in social media.

In addition, earlier this week, Google also demonstrated its AI chat robot Bard, although users are not yet able to try it.
