According to the camp, the total TOP4 brand shipments of the first camp (annual shipments of more than 5 million units) reached 2.6 million units, down about 8% from the same period last year and more than 20% month-on-month.

Xiaomi (including red rice) was active in online ecommerce and offline stores in January, shipping about 1 million units, the same as the same period last year, but its market share of nearly 30 per cent was 5 percentage points higher than last year. Recently, Xiaomi TV has launched a broadband TV service, which can watch TV channels directly through the broadband network.

The three major brands (including sub-brands) of Hisense, TCL and Skyworth shipped a total of 1.6 million units in January, down 12.7% from the same period last year, while the combined market accounted for 47.3%, down 1.8% from the previous month.

Hisense launched an 8K TV UX on CES 2023, including 110in and 85-inch versions, priced at 270,000 yuan and 56000 yuan respectively, with 8K resolution and a high 5000 + backlight partition, achieving a peak brightness of 2500 nits. The TCL sub-brand grew 13 per cent year-on-year and was the only growth among the seven traditional brands, mainly from its sub-brands Thunderbird and Lehua, with combined shipments up 69 per cent year-on-year. After falling 4 per cent last year, Skyworth's January shipment decline continued to expand to more than 20 per cent.

The second camp (annual shipments of about 3 million units) Changhong, Haier and Konka shipped a total of about 520000 units in January, down 37 per cent from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com has learned that Huawei's shipments have fallen sharply from a year earlier since the fourth quarter of last year and did not stop the trend in January, falling by more than 30 per cent.

The four major foreign brands, Sony, Samsung, Sharp and Philips, shipped a total of about 100000 units in January, down more than 30 per cent from a year earlier. Samsung unveiled a new generation of 2023 Neo QLED 8K TVs at CES 2023; in the Chinese market, it is expected to focus on promoting QD OLED TVs and a series of TVs with artistic characteristics.

The new year is off to a bad start, and the wave of retaliatory consumption that has arrived has not spread to the color TV industry. RUNTO judged that China's TV market will continue to be depressed in the first quarter of 2023, the recovery of the consumer market needs rhythm, and it will take time to ease consumer sentiment. It is predicted that the overall TV market will ship no more than 8 million units in the current quarter, a decline of more than 5%.
