CTOnews.com February 11, Microsoft Edge 110stable browser has added support for Drop functionality. The Drop feature allows users to synchronize files and notes between desktop and mobile Edge browsers. These files and notes can also be accessed directly through OneDrive.

Interested CTOnews.com users can try this feature in Edge browsers. This function depends on the synchronization function of the browser, so you also need to register a Microsoft account.

Microsoft adds Drop to the sidebar of the browser, which users can enable and configure on the sidebar settings page. You can access the page from the menu > Settings > sidebar, or load its internal address edge://settings/ sidebar directly in the address bar of Edge.

Edge users who are not logged in will see a login prompt when they select Delete. A short introduction screen is displayed when you access the feature for the first time, and then jumps to the Drop main interface.

This interface explains two core features of the Drop function.

The first feature is to write notes in the Edge text box, and the note content is added to the Notes.

Notes are displayed on the sidebar, similar to the way notes are displayed in a messaging application. The main difference here is that all notes are private and visible only to logged-in users.

The second feature is to support drag-and-drop to add files, or you can add one or more files from the local device by selecting the plus button in the Drop interface.

All notes and files are listed in chronological order in the interface. Notes can only be copied or deleted, and there is no editing option at the time of writing. Files have prominent open links and extension menus, and support options for opening files on folders or OneDrive, opening files using the associated application, and copying or deleting files.

So where will these files be stored? The Edge right-click menu shows that these notes are stored on OneDrive. Microsoft creates a new root folder called Microsoft Edge Drop Files on OneDrive. There, users can find all missing files and all written notes. The data is synchronized like any other OneDrive file.
