Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, February 11 (Xinhua)-- the Anti-Digital hatred Center (CCDH) pointed out in its latest report that Twitter earns up to $19 million a year in advertising revenue from 10 accounts that were once banned by the platform.

The report examines the interaction of the 10 banned accounts, which had previously been banned for "posting hate speech". These accounts came back into use after Elon Musk took over Twitter.

CTOnews.com learned that the banned accounts included Andrew Tate, Daily Stormer founder Andrew Anglin, well-known anti-vaccine vaccinators Robert Malone and Gateway Pundit.

To estimate their influence and participation, CCDH analyzed nearly 10000 tweets from these accounts in 47 days in December and January.

The analysis points out that the 10 Twitter accounts show an average of 5400 tweets a day. Based on an average of 365 days, these accounts are expected to be displayed nearly 20 billion times a year.

To determine how much advertising revenue these impressions might generate for Twitter, CCDH said it had created three new Twitter accounts, focusing only on the 10 users mentioned in the report. The author found that there was about one ad for every 6.7 tweets.

Then, using data from analyst firm Brandwatch, the company estimated that "Twitter ads cost an average of $6.46 per 1000 presentations", and CCDH concluded that "total annual advertising revenue for all accounts is estimated to be as high as $19 million."
