Thank you, Mr. Air, a netizen of CTOnews.com, for your clue delivery! CTOnews.com, February 10 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- GlobalFoundries (GF, Grid Core) recently announced that it has acquired Renesas's patents and production-proven Conductive bridged Random access memory (conductive- bridging RAM,CBRAM) technology, a low-power memory solution designed to implement a range of applications for the Internet of things in homes and industries, as well as smart mobile devices.

The deal further strengthens GF's memory portfolio and expands its roadmap for embedded non-volatile memory (NVM) solutions by adding another reliable, customizable embedded memory solution that is relatively easy to integrate into other technology nodes. Specifically, this technology will enable customers to further distinguish their SoC designs and drive the development of next-generation security and smart devices.

GE Core said, "We are committed to differentiating our technology portfolio and becoming the basis for our customers' energy-saving Internet of things applications today and in the coming decades." By acquiring this innovative storage technology, GF now plays a vital role in accelerating the development of NVM solutions, which will enable our customers to design the next generation of smart and connected devices. CBRAM technology unleashes a new paradigm of performance and ultra-low power consumption, allowing applications from wearables to smartphones to extend battery charging intervals from hours to weeks or even years under specific usage conditions. "

CTOnews.com learned that CBRAM's low power consumption, high read / write speed, reduced manufacturing costs and tolerance to harsh environments make it particularly suitable for consumer, medical and specific industrial applications. In 2020, GF entered into a licensing agreement with Dialog Semiconductor, which was acquired by Renesas in 2021, to provide its CBRAM technology as an embedded, NVM option. CBRAM is now being certified on the company's 22FDX platform and plans to expand it to other platforms.
