Relying on the accumulation of optics, Gore recently announced the launch of a new generation of DLP technology PGU module PGU4620 for on-board AR-HUD, accelerating the expansion of automotive intelligent cockpit optics.

CTOnews.com learned that the Gore PGU4620 module is based on the latest DMD chip DLP4620S-Q1 of TI (Texas Instruments), the optical components are made of glass, and the all-metal fuselage helps the whole machine to dissipate heat, which is more suitable for complex vehicle operating conditions in terms of temperature resistance and stability.

The main advantages of PGU4620 are as follows: based on the new technology of TI and the design capability of Gore, its overall resolution is nearly 20% higher than that of the previous generation of platform (DLP5530) products, and the view angle is larger, which helps to improve the display effect of HUD; its volume is only 0.3L, which is about 10%, 15% less than that of similar products, and the overall cost is expected to be more than 15% lower than that of the previous generation, helping to rapidly increase AR-HUD penetration. Not only that, PGU4620 also added a user interface to automatically adjust the white balance function, so that HUD manufacturers can quickly debug according to customer needs and accelerate the launch of their products.

Relying on TI's DLP technology platform, Gore will continue to develop and launch one-stop solutions for PGU and optical devices with higher performance, smaller size and lower cost.
