CTOnews.com, February 10, according to the website of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products.

1. Since February 13, 2023, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. has recalled a total of 70 imported GLE SUV and GLS SUV vehicles manufactured during the period from July 19, 2021 to August 3, 2022.

In some vehicles within the scope of this recall, because the locking bolts of the steering couplings are not fastened in accordance with the prescribed torque, there may be a gap between the locking bolts and the steering couplings, which may be further loosened with the vehicle vibration. In extreme cases, the locking bolt may detach from the steering coupling, affecting the handling of the vehicle and the risk of collision.

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will, through authorized dealers, replace the locking bolts of steering couplings for vehicles within the recall range free of charge and tighten them according to standard torque to eliminate safety risks.

2. From now on, Beijing Mercedes-Benz Motor Co., Ltd. has recalled a total of 223 domestic EQE electric vehicles that were manufactured from September 18, 2022 to October 29, 2022.

CTOnews.com learned that the unreasonable control logic setting of the high-voltage battery management system software of the vehicle within the scope of this recall may cause the insulation measuring equipment (IMD) inside the high-voltage battery to shut down abnormally, resulting in a power outage of the high-voltage battery, the loss of power of the vehicle while driving, and safety risks.

Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will update the high-voltage battery management system software for vehicles within the recall range free of charge through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers to eliminate safety risks.
