CTOnews.com February 10 news, China Automobile Association data show, January 2023, Automobile market performance flat, Automobile production and sales month-on-month, Year-on-year all showed double-digit decline. Monthly production and sales were 1.594 million and 1.649 million respectively, down 33.1% and 35.5% month-on-month and 34.3% and 35% year-on-year respectively.

CTOnews.com learned that the China Automobile Association said that due to the withdrawal of preferential policies for the purchase of traditional fuel vehicles and subsidies for new energy vehicles, the impulse effect of manufacturers at the end of the year, and the superposition of factors such as the advance of the Spring Festival holiday to January this year, the reduction of production and operation time of enterprises, consumers overdraft demand in advance. Compared with February of Spring Festival in 2022, the production and sales volume decreased by 12.1% and 5.1% respectively, and increased by 13% and 11.3% respectively compared with February of Spring Festival in 2019 (before the epidemic).

In terms of new energy vehicles, in January 2023, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 425,000 and 408,000 respectively, with a month-on-month decrease of 46.6% and 49.9% respectively and a year-on-year decrease of 6.9% and 6.3% respectively, with a market share of 24.7%. Compared with February of Spring Festival in 2022, production and sales increased by 15.4% and 22.2% respectively.

Specifically, in January 2023, the sales volume of pure electric vehicles was 287,000, down 18.2% year-on-year; the sales volume of plug-in hybrid vehicles was 121,000, up 42.5% year-on-year.
