CTOnews.com February 10 news, TSMC today released revenue figures for January 2023. Data show that TSMC collected about NT $200.05 billion (currently about 45.011 billion yuan) in January 2023, an increase of 3.9% from the previous month and 16.2% from a year earlier.

CTOnews.com learned that this is also the first time that TSMC's January revenue has exceeded NT $200 billion (currently about 45 billion yuan), a new high for the same period in the previous year.

For comparison, TSMC achieved operating income of NT $2.26389 trillion (currently about 509.375 billion yuan) in 2022, an increase of 42.6 per cent year-on-year. Of this total, the camp collected about NT $192.56 billion (currently about 43.326 billion yuan) in December 2022, down 13.5% from the previous month and an increase of 23.9% over the same period last year.

In January this year, Wei Zhijia, president of TSMC, said that due to the downturn in the PC and smartphone markets and customer inventory adjustment, TSMC's 7nm and 6nm capacity utilization was no longer at the highest level in the past three years. It is estimated that it will take several quarters to adjust, and demand is expected to pick up in the second half of this year.
