Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

On February 10, CTOnews.com, Nikon released its results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2022 (October 1, 2022-December 31, 2022).

Nikon Group's third-quarter sales revenue reached 167.7 billion yen, up 25.8 per cent from the same period a year earlier, according to data. Operating profit is as high as 26.2 billion yen.

According to reports, Nikon's image business recorded substantial growth in revenue and profits driven by hot sales in Z9 and the depreciation of the yen. Sales revenue from the image business alone exceeded 69.9 billion yen, an increase of 49.4% over the same period last year; operating profit reached 19 billion yen, an increase of 201.6% over the same period last year, so Nikon raised its revenue forecast for fiscal year 2022 by 29.1% to 630 billion yen.

Of course, in addition to the hot sales of the flagship digital microcamera Z9, several Nikel Z lenses released by Nikon this financial quarter have also been well received, as well as a line of medium and advanced cameras and lenses for professionals and photography enthusiasts, as previously reported by CTOnews.com.

In addition, Precision Equipment (29.9% of revenue) revenue rose 14.9% year-on-year to 50.2 billion yen. It is said that the increase is mainly due to the increase in sales of semiconductor lithography systems, partly offset by weak sales of FPD lithography systems.

Due to strong customer demand for life science solutions and eye care solutions, Nikon's healthcare revenue (15.2% of revenue) rose 26.2% year-on-year to 25.5 billion yen in the quarter.

Revenues from other components (7.2 per cent of revenues) fell 13 per cent to 12.1 billion yen from the same period last year, while industrial metrology and other (6 per cent) revenues rose 14.6 per cent year-on-year to 10.2 billion yen.

With regard to semiconductor equipment that people are concerned about, Nikon's chief financial officer, Yoshihiro Decheng, said that he would pay close attention to the fact that a large number of exports to China, but so far has not received a formal statement of the ban. China accounts for 40% of total sales of semiconductors and panel exposure equipment, according to Nikon. There is no impact on earnings at the moment.
