CTOnews.com, February 10 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft has disbanded its four-month-old Metasverse application team, which aims to help customers use Metasverse in an industrial environment, The Information said, citing people familiar with the matter. All of the team's about 100 employees have been fired, the person familiar with the matter said.

CTOnews.com reported last October that Microsoft had created an industrial metacosmos core team to create software interfaces for control systems behind power plants, industrial robots and transportation networks. The team is mainly made up of an internal group called Project Bonsai.

It is worth mentioning that Microsoft announced last month that it would cut 10,000 jobs, involving a number of departments, accounting for about 4.5% of its workforce.
