Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com February 9 news, last month, Samsung successfully demonstrated SLA network slices on the current 5G network in Tokyo, Japan. Now, the demonstration seems to be paying off, with Samsung Electronics announcing that it has been selected by Japanese network operator KDDI as the cloud native 5G independent (SA) core network provider.

One of the advantages of Samsung's 5G Core solution is that it supports both 4G and 5G, which makes the seamless migration from 4G standard to 5G possible. CTOnews.com learned that Samsung's 5G Core solution provides geo-redundancy support and ensures network stability and reliability through overload control to offset burst traffic spikes.

Samsung will support KDDI's 5G SA network in Japan, a new partnership that is the result of years of cooperation between the two companies on various projects. Recently, Samsung and KDDI commercially deployed the Open Virtualization RAN (vRAN) site in Osaka, marking the world's first commercial MU-MIMO implementation with multi-vendor interoperability that conforms to O-RAN standards.

Samsung has previously helped Verizon deploy 10000 5G vRAN sites in the United States, with a goal of deploying 20000 sites by 2025. Samsung also signed a multi-year patent license agreement with Nokia, which allows the South Korean technology giant to use Nokia 5G technology.
