CTOnews.com February 9 news, the first Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra disassembly video has been released, the repairable score has greatly increased. The Galaxy S23 Ultra was the first Samsung flagship product to make battery replacement easier because the company eventually gave up gluing components to the middle box.

While other OEMs began to use pull rings to simplify battery replacement, Samsung insisted on using glue. But Samsung has finally changed because new EU regulations require it to be easier to repair and is now trying to make more sustainable consumer electronics.

The PBKreviews disassembly video shows the Galaxy S23 Ultra as Samsung's first flagship product to use a plastic bag with a battery pull ring. DIY enthusiasts will no longer need to use a hot air gun to soften the glue that sticks the battery to the middle frame, giving the Galaxy S23 a higher repairable score of 9 to 10. By comparison, last year's score of Galaxy S22 Ultra was 3x10.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 + are expected to follow a similar approach and get good maintainability scores.

In addition, the disassembly video confirms previous reports that the Galaxy S23 Ultra uses a larger soaking plate than the S22 model. This helps keep the new and overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips cool.
