CTOnews.com, February 9 (Xinhua) Richard Dinh, Apple's senior director of product design for iPhone, recently talked to Tim Biggs of the Sydney Morning Herald about the design of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, including some internal changes to simplify the maintenance process.

Apple's iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have removable rear glass panels for easy maintenance, making them the first iPhone models since the iPhone 4S to open both the front and back of the device at the same time.

However, this change has not been extended to the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which still can only be opened from the front.

IFixit's Kyle Wiens said last year that iPhone 14 represented "the most significant iPhone redesign" since iPhone X, given the improved repairability. He added: "these changes are significant and should have been the focus of Apple's promotion-the iPhone has been redesigned from the inside out to make it easier to repair."

According to CTOnews.com, the official maintenance price of the iPhone 14 / Pro series shows that the glass back panel of the iPhone 14 series is much cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro series because it is removable separately.

Dinh also talked about Apple's approach to designing standard iPhone models, saying the company doesn't have any strict design formulas. "We don't always follow the rules, and while users may want to predict what we're going to do next, it's only based on the user experience. Sometimes we do learn from professionals, but sometimes we do do something different."
