CTOnews.com tests found that Sogou Input's official website still offers a direct download of the OpenHarmony version, with the name "sogou-input-harmonyOS-guanwang-20230112.hap", but may not be able to install it directly on Huawei HarmonyOS phones.

In November 2022, Tencent Sogou Input established a partnership with Huawei. Tencent Sogou Input will develop Sogou Input Hongmeng version based on the HarmonyOS framework based on OpenHarmony to create a full scene input application and bring an innovative input experience.

HarmonyOS is a full-scene distributed operating system launched by Huawei. The same system adapts to a variety of intelligent terminals, and the number of devices carried has reached 320 million. According to the cooperation content, Sogou Input Hongmeng version has the characteristics of rich thesaurus resources, various input modes and AI technology, and will fully support smart phones, personal computers, smart wearable, smart home appliances and other smart devices under HarmonyOS, and provide input services for users in a variety of input scenarios such as smart cars, smart education, fitness and entertainment. Sogou Input Hongmeng version will also innovate and optimize the distributed architecture and full-scene linkage of HarmonyOS to achieve the effect of developing multi-terminal deployment at one time, and significantly reduce the adaptation threshold and cost of input applications by other partners under Hongmeng ecosystem.

CTOnews.com learned that under the HarmonyOS framework, Tencent Sogou Input has developed the basic input function of the virtual keyboard and adapted to some devices, and the input mode supports the selection and switching of Pinyin 9 keys, Pinyin full keys, English full keys and five strokes.

Tencent Sogou Input covers Windows, Android, iOS, macOS, HarmonyOS, Linux and other system platforms.
