At this stage, Baidu and Horse Zhixing have invested 20 Robotaxi vehicles to carry out the "full vehicle unmanned" test from 9 am to 5 pm within the 20 square kilometers of the Intelligent Network United Automobile Policy lead area. What is different from the past is that the front and rear rows of these test vehicles are empty, and there are no longer security guards on board, realizing the real sense of "no one at all".

In this test phase, Baidu "radish run" invested a total of 10 self-driving vehicles. A person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Autopilot Office said that carrying passengers requires enterprises to meet the corresponding targets in vehicle testing and commercial pilot, including test mileage, safe operation requirements, regional coverage, traffic efficiency, safety emergency plans, and so on. According to the current testing situation of enterprises, it is expected that the pilot of "complete vehicle unmanned" passenger transport will be realized in the first half of this year.

At the same time, a person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Autopilot Office also said that the demonstration zone has officially entered the 3.0 phase this year, and will mainly promote the implementation of four tasks: replication and promotion, technology iteration, policy innovation, and industrial agglomeration. In terms of replication and promotion, the demonstration zone will extend the experiences, systems and standards already formed in stages 1.0 and 2.0 to a larger scale, and on the basis of 60 square kilometers, another 100 square kilometers will be built in Yizhuang New City. and gradually complete the expansion of the city's 500-square-kilometer demonstration area. In terms of policy innovation, under the premise of ensuring safety, to promote the landing of more autopilot application scenarios, in addition to truly unmanned commercial manned operation, but also to open up the unmanned passenger vehicle operation line from the open area to the airport, to realize the commercial logistics operation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei trunk line.

According to previous reports by CTOnews.com, the Beijing Intelligent Network Automotive Policy pilot Zone opened self-driving road tests in October last year, and issued the country's first detailed rules for the management of unmanned road tests. The implementation rules clearly divide the test into three stages: "co-driver", "no one in the front row, someone in the back row" and "remote out of the car", which will push the industry into the unmanned stage of the whole vehicle in an orderly manner. The rules put forward requirements for the main body of the application and the test vehicle from the point of view of application conditions and examination, test supervision and management, traffic violations and accident handling and violation handling.
