Tianbing Science and Technology said that during the test run, the engine started sensitively, worked smoothly and shut down normally. The ignition process of generator and thrust chamber is soft, the starting relay is smooth, the chamber pressure is stable, and the product is in good condition after test. The data show that the system parameters are coordinated, the ignition timing is reasonable, the performance indexes meet the design requirements, the engine system design scheme is reasonable, and the production process scheme is feasible.
This "TH-12" completed the hot test run on Tianbing Science and Technology 300t vertical test stand, comprehensively examined the starting and steady-state working characteristics of the engine system under rated inlet conditions, rated mixing ratio and rated thrust conditions, and further examined the key technical schemes such as low-cost cold air starting scheme, self-ignition ignition of ignition agent of combustion assembly, rapid additive manufacturing of hot end components of large turbine and overall structure of thrust chamber, etc.
CTOnews.com learned that Tianbing Science and Technology "TH-12" engine started development in December 2020, ground design thrust 110 tons, specific impulse 285s, thrust-weight ratio 163. It is currently the largest liquid rocket engine for commercial aerospace in China and the largest 3D printing engine in China.
"TH-12" adopts six-channel control and real-time health monitoring in the whole process. It can realize multi-mode start, multiple ignition, all-electric servo drive, two-way swing after pump and variable thrust control.
At the same time, the engine adopts non-explosive starting technology, which can meet the development requirements of high-frequency test and enhanced reliability verification; it adopts deep variable thrust technology, which can meet the market demand of repeated use and low-cost launch of launch vehicle; the engine has simple structure, high thrust-weight ratio and large surface thrust density, and its product performance is at the international leading level.
