However, according to foreign technology media BetaNews, Mozilla hopes to expand its market share by extending Firefox Firefox's support for Win7 and Win8.1 to attract these users.

CTOnews.com queried the Statcounter website and found that in the market share of Windows, the proportion of Win7 users was 9.62%, the proportion of Win7 users was 0.62%, and that of Twin 8.1 was 2.31%. This means that 12.55% of users still use these outdated systems, which is still sizeable according to the number of Microsoft Windows users.

Although Mozilla cannot guarantee support forever, it hopes to extend support until at least 2024. Mozilla may release a Firefox ESR version in mid-2023 to support Win7 and Win 8.1 systems.
