Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com February 8 news, car rental company Hertz (Hertz) revealed that its huge order of 100000 electric vehicles Tesla delivered only about half.

In 2021, Hertz announced an important initiative to purchase 100000 large-scale Tesla Model 3 cars to electrify its leased fleet. Recently, the company added Model Y vehicles to its order.

The car rental company said it expected to have all 100000 Tesla cars by the end of 2022-although Tesla did not seem to fully comply with the schedule.

Today, Hertz disclosed through its 2022 annual filing that the company had about 48344 Tesla electric vehicles by the end of the year:

Hertz's fleet in the Americas peaked at 428700 vehicles in the year to December 31, 2022, 11 percent of which were Tesla cars, according to the documents. The company also has 1187 Tesla in its international fleet.

Media reports said it was disappointing because Hertz appeared to have received only about half of its planned 100000 Tesla cars. However, these figures are very confusing.

CTOnews.com learned that shortly after announcing Tesla's order, Hertz announced that in addition to adding Tesla cars to its rental fleet, the company had also reached an agreement with Uber to provide its drivers with the opportunity to use Tesla cars and would lease 50, 000 Tesla cars to Uber drivers. If the plan succeeds, the company will have more options.

Last month, Hertz confirmed that nearly 50000 Uber drivers had hired Tesla through the program. It is not clear whether the plan is based on Hertz's Tesla fleet of consumer rental services or neck and neck.

In December last year, Hertz and Uber also announced the deployment of 25000 Tesla and Polar Electric vehicles in Europe.
