Boeing pointed out that the layoffs are part of efforts to simplify the company's structure and will be carried out through layoffs and attrition, while outsourcing some of the work.
Earlier, Boeing said it would add about 10, 000 jobs this year, with about 156000 employees by the end of 2022. CTOnews.com learned that Boeing said recruitment would focus on engineering and manufacturing positions.

For the whole of 2022, Boeing's revenue was about $66.6 billion (currently about 452.214 billion yuan), up 7 percent from a year earlier, and a net loss of about $5.053 billion (currently about 34.31 billion yuan), an increase of about 18 percent year-on-year, according to the results.
