CTOnews.com, February 8 (Xinhua)-- according to the latest BoM analysis released by market research firm Counterpoint Research, more than half of Google's Pixel 7 Pro costs are in Samsung's pocket. Samsung displays supply screens that account for about 20% of Pixel 7 Pro material costs.

According to Counterpoint Research, a market research firm, it costs Google about $413 (currently about 2804 yuan) to produce a Pixel 7 Pro for 128GB. CTOnews.com visited Google's website and showed that the phone retails for $749 (currently about 5086 yuan).

The Tensor G2 chip used in the Pixel 7 Pro was jointly developed by Google and Samsung LSI. The chip is mass-produced by Samsung's 5nm process and is equipped with a larger Mali G710 core. The report estimates that the Tensor G2 is $10 more expensive than its predecessor. Coupled with the Titan M2 security coprocessor, which is also self-designed, Google accounts for more than 7% of the total component cost of the Pixel 7 Pro.

The 6.7in OLED screen of the Pixel 7 Pro comes from Samsung. The display has a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels, allowing users to view clear details of pictures and videos. It also supports LTPO-based 10~120Hz adaptive refresh rate to extend battery life and smooth display. Compared with the previous generation, the new screen supports the highest 1500nit brightness and displays more clearly in the sun.

Samsung plays a key role in building an imaging system for Pixel 7 Pro. The main camera uses Samsung's ISOCELL GN1 sensor, and the periscope camera and front-facing camera are also from Samsung.

In addition to the Samsung ISOCELL GN1, which continues to power the main camera, Samsung LSI's image sensors are also used in periscope and front selfie cameras. SEMCO remains the leading manufacturer of triple rear camera modules.

On the memory side, SK Hynix is the 128GB NAND Flash supplier of Pixel 7 Pro and supports the UFS gen 3.1 standard. At the same time, Meguiar and Samsung offer 12GB LPDDR5 together.
