Beijing, February 8 morning news, it is reported that blockchain non-profit organization Dfinity Foundation previously sued Meta for trademark infringement. The latest news shows that Meta and Dfinity settled the dispute by way of settlement. Both sides asked the court to dismiss the case on the grounds of prejudice, which meant that the case could not be retried.

A Meta spokesman said Meta was satisfied with the results. Meta also said that the defects were pointed out in the revised lawsuit, and eventually Dfinity dropped the lawsuit.

Internet Computer is a decentralized public network with unlimited capacity, which is owned by Dfinity. Last May, Dfinity sued Meta, arguing that the Logo used by Meta after changing its name from Facebook was easily confused with the logo used by Dfinity. Meta explained that his "continuous loop" logo is a bit like the letter M, and the infinite symbol also symbolizes the bright future of the meta-universe.

The United States District Judge dismissed Dfinity's initial lawsuit but allowed Dfinity to amend the pleadings. The judge held that Meta's Logo would not cause confusion among consumers, the design of the two was different, and Dfinity's customers preferred technology-savvy developers. In December last year, Dfinity amended the complaint and filed a new lawsuit.

At present, Meta still has some trademark lawsuits to resolve, such as those brought by VR company MetaX and investment firm Metacapital, which were triggered by Meta's name change.
