CTOnews.com has learned that Fengyun No. 04 satellite is the final work of China's second-generation low-orbit meteorological satellites, including a tilt orbit precipitation measurement satellite and a solar synchronous twilight orbit satellite, which will further enhance the payload detection capability and platform service support capability, and will cooperate with high-orbit meteorological satellites to achieve on-orbit verification of cooperative observation of high and low orbit in China for the first time, supporting the development of intelligent observation and system of the third generation meteorological satellites.

Cao Xiaozhong, deputy director of the China Meteorological Administration, said:

Around the test and launch tasks of the two satellites this year, the research and development units should do a good job of re-carding, re-verification, re-confirmation, and re-testing, and the application departments should strengthen their participation to ensure that they are foolproof.
