CTOnews.com February 7 news, Arm company today announced the third quarter of 2022 financial results, the third quarter revenue of 746 million US dollars (currently about 5.065 billion yuan), Year-on-year growth of 28%. Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) reached US $450 million (currently about RMB 3.055 billion), adjusted EBITDA profit margin exceeded 50%, and the performance was relatively outstanding.

Arm's earnings report shows that in the third quarter, partners shipped 8 billion ARM architecture chips, a single-season high, and cumulative shipments officially crossed a new milestone of 250 billion chips.

Arm stressed that partner chip shipments reached an all-time high in the third quarter, mainly because Arm's diversified market continued to drive strong growth in royalties and licensing revenue.

In the third quarter, licensing revenue reached US $300 million (currently about RMB 2.037 billion), an increase of 65% year-on-year, mainly due to the signing of new long-term strategic cooperation agreements with four key partners, covering an automotive OEM, a cloud service provider, a leading microcontroller manufacturer and a consumer electronics semiconductor manufacturer.

In addition, the third quarter royalty revenue reached 446 million US dollars (currently about 3.028 billion yuan), an increase of 12% year-on-year, partly due to strong demand for Arm architecture server technology and Arm architecture automotive chips, while Arm v9 processor technology is also popular in the high-end smartphone and cloud server application market.

CTOnews.com understands that Arm said in its earnings report that all target markets achieved strong double-digit or three-digit revenue growth in the third quarter, covering four areas: automotive, end products (consumer electronics), infrastructure and Internet of Things.

Yoshimitsu Goto, chief financial officer of SoftBank Group AG, said on Tuesday that the company had made significant progress in its initial public offering for Arm, a British chip design company. Goto said SoftBank's goal remains to complete Arm's IPO by March 2024. Ian Thornton, Arm's head of investor relations, said no decision had been made on where to list.
