CTOnews.com, February 7 (Xinhua)-- according to Sony's results for the third quarter of fiscal 2022 (the fourth quarter of 2022), its revenue was $8.797 billion, the best in a single quarter. Total revenue from games and online services increased by $1.6 billion last year, up 23% from a year earlier.

The company's total revenue is $8.797 billion (currently about 59.732 billion yuan)

The company's operating profit is $820 million (currently about 5.568 billion yuan)

The profit margin is 10.7%

The big increase in revenue in the quarter was mainly driven by sales of PlayStation 5 game consoles, with hardware up 75 per cent year-on-year. Sony shipped 7.1 million PS5 units during the holiday quarter, with hardware sales of $3.11 billion (currently about 21.117 billion yuan), an increase of $1.337 billion from last year (currently about 9.078 billion yuan).

The game-related business is also very outstanding. Sony earned $659 million from physical game sales, of which call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Ares: the Gods of Twilight set new records. Sony recently reported that the Legend of Wonderland has now sold more than 1100 million people.
