CTOnews.com, February 7, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier that Ford is in talks with BYD to sell a German factory.

However, according to Bloomberg news on Feb. 7, BYD Executive Vice President Li Ke said in an interview with Bloomberg that BYD is exploring to build its own factory in Europe, "rather than focusing on the facilities of other companies."

Li Ke also said that BYD has not yet set up a target country for the facility, but the company is conducting a feasibility study and hopes to have a solid sales and dealer network and service centers in Europe to ensure consumer confidence in the brand.

CTOnews.com learned that the German business media Automotive Weekly previously reported that in addition to BYD, Ford contract manufacturer, auto parts supplier Magna and Dutch carmaker VDL Nedcar are also interested in buying the Sal Louis plant in Germany.
