CTOnews.com, February 7, CTOnews.com users of Apple Mac devices, what is your purpose of using Mac? Which applications reside on macOS Dock? A new website called Dockhunt, a social platform for sharing macOS Dock, was launched recently.

The purpose of the site is to share macOS Dock as an opportunity to help you discover new apps and to let you know how many "like-minded" people also host an app on macOS Dock.

Max Musing, one of the creators of Dockhunt, explained the motivation for creating the service on Product Hunt:

What I like most is to seek product inspiration from other developers. When I meet other developers, the first question I ask them is, "what's in your Dock?"

I hope this will be an interesting way for people to connect through their favorite applications. Working in Basedash made me know a lot of talented builders. This is one of the reasons why I like this community very much.

Dockhunt uses a simple web interface that allows you to browse works from other Mac users. You can also view a list of top-level applications to reveal the most common applications that Dockhunt users retain in their Mac's Dock.

Apps such as Slack, Chrome, Visual Studio Code and Notion topped the list, with Visual Studio Code topping the list with 487 votes or 51 per cent.

Although the sample data here is a little small, it also shows to a certain extent that many users choose Mac devices for development.
