Raju Pullan, head of Samsung's mobile business in India, said Samsung Electronics India had previously imported some high-end folding screen phones to India, but now began to assemble all its models in India.

Pullan also said that Samsung last week launched a new generation of flagship smartphone Galaxy S23 series. Within 24 hours of the release, nearly 140,000 orders were received in India, worth about 14 billion Indian rupees (currently about 1.152 billion yuan, or about $169 million), twice the first-day order of the previous generation of Galaxy phones.

Pullan also revealed that Samsung Electronics is increasing the number of stores selling Galaxy devices and spending more money on sales and marketing, but did not give further details.
