Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, February 6 (Xinhua)-- Nokia today announced the launch of UBT-m XP, the latest member of its Wavence product line, designed to support mobile operators and enterprises to provide high-quality coverage in dense urban and rural environments. Nokia's latest E-Band transceiver is a high-capacity outdoor unit with a compact and lightweight shape and the highest transmission power on the market, making it an ideal choice for urban microwave transmission applications. Nokia has introduced a SteadEband-stable three-foot antenna that solves common E-band problems, including tower vibration and thermal movement. Combined with UBT-m XP, it can increase typical E-Band link distances by up to 50%, helping mobile operators provide multi-gigabit 5G connections to their customers. These new products address all use cases for improving link distance and energy efficiency of the Wavence portfolio.
The UBT-m XP is an ultra-wideband transceiver with integrated modems and Duplexers that provides best-in-class energy efficiency and transmits power twice the industry average. In recent tests, Nokia demonstrated a 12-kilometer link using UBT-m XP and SteadEband antennas.
Nokia also announced the launch of Outdoor Channel aggregator (OCA) to support mobile operators who want to expand the coverage and capacity of rural broadband application networks. OCA aggregates multiple UBT-T XP transceivers to support high-capacity, high-power, outdoor dual-band radios, allowing for increased throughput. Compared with traditional aggregation methods, the system gain is as high as 10dB. This is important for increasing link distances or optimizing OPEX / CAPEX by eliminating the need for larger antennas or repeater systems.
CTOnews.com learned that Nokia has also introduced carrier aggregation high-density (CAHD) cards, which add "single-channel" capacity to backhaul lines to support link distances. The innovative CAHD module protects operators' investment by providing 10Gbps backhaul capacity over multiple channels and supporting seamless migration from existing low-capacity backhaul lines to high-capacity backhaul lines.
Nokia's "Simplified RAN Transport" solution optimizes radio access base stations and microwave radio transmission hardware to a minimum. This provides enhanced maintainability and operability without the need for dedicated indoor microwave equipment. Compared with traditional microwave site solutions, Nokia's solution can save 30% more energy because the number of units and cooling requirements are reduced. In addition, it can reduce TCO and site footprint.
Nokia's comprehensive Wavence portfolio provides complete microwave solutions for all use cases, covering short-distance, long-distance, E-Band and SDN-based management for mobile operators and enterprises. Its zero-footprint implementation for a full outdoor architecture can be directly integrated with RAN and IP devices with common management capabilities. This helps to reduce network energy consumption in an all-round way, and its software features and automation help to achieve further energy conservation goals.
According to Sky Light Research's latest forecast, the high-capacity E-band market is expected to grow by more than 60 per cent by 2023. Nokia's latest product responds to this call, but has the added advantage of high power and energy efficiency. Sustainability and power indicators also remain in the lead.
