According to CRRC, LNG is increasingly concerned and favored by the shipping industry because of its small size, large reserves, less pollution, safe and easy transportation, low cost and so on. However, for many years, the development of LNG-powered ships in China is facing many challenges, such as weak navigation, difficult refueling and so on. The replaceable marine LNG fuel tank developed and manufactured by CRRC solves this problem.

CTOnews.com learned that the replaceable marine LNG fuel tank can be replaced by a "LNG gas supply device integrated in a standard container" to replace the previous "fixed LNG fuel tank". Like the "power exchange" of new energy vehicles, ships can use the "direct pick-up by vehicle and vessel" mode for LNG replenishment at any port of arrival and departure, and the whole tank replacement process can be completed in less than 30 minutes. The container ship on this maiden voyage has a mileage of more than 3000 kilometers.

CRRC said that the "LNG tank-for-tank replenishment mode" has solved the pain points in many industries, such as few quay bases, difficulties in the construction of filling stations for hazardous chemicals, wharf rivers and complex rock foundations, and opened up a new way in China's marine fuel market.
