On February 6, 2023, another large tonnage liquid crystal substrate glass production line of G8.5 Phase II was successfully ignited and put into production in Hefei Industrial Base.

In 2022, relying on the platform of the National Engineering Research Center, Rainbow made systematic improvements around the stable operation of the production line, the improvement of service life and efficiency, and ignited and put into production the G8.5 + large tonnage liquid crystal substrate glass production line in Hefei industrial base. the speed from construction, trial production and climbing to reaching production has reached a better level of international counterparts. In order to further expand the market share of the company's G8.5 + products, the construction of another large tonnage liquid crystal substrate glass hot end production line in Phase II is progressing smoothly, providing technical guarantee for accelerating the construction of the first Xianyang G8.5 + substrate glass production line that will be ignited and put into production.

CTOnews.com learned that Rainbow display device Co., Ltd. (referred to as Rainbow Co., Ltd.) was established in July 1992, mainly engaged in R & D, production and sales of flat panel display devices and their key materials, and is an enterprise integrating R & D, design and manufacturing in the domestic LCD panel and LCD substrate glass industry. Rainbow was approved to build the first national engineering laboratory of flat panel display glass technology in China, and the preparation technology of overflow electronic glass substrate independently developed by the company was listed as a key R & D support project by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The high-resolution display glass substrate production line project is specially supported by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The company's LCD panel business, the main products cover 32-100in ultra-high resolution (4K, 8K), curved surface, narrow frame (no frame) and other kinds of LCD TV panels, with advanced Cu, COA, BOA, PSVA and other key new technology and mixed cutting production technology.

According to the official introduction of Rainbow, the company's LCD substrate glass business has built four substrate glass production bases in Xianyang, Hefei, Zhangjiagang and Chengdu, forming a series of products from G5, G6, G7.5, to G8.5 and the thickness of 0.4mm to 0.7mm, and is the only enterprise in China that has mastered complete sets of equipment, processes, materials, materials and testing technology for the manufacture of high-generation substrate glass.

In January 2020, the first domestic 0.5t G8.5 + substrate glass product with independent intellectual property rights was successfully put off the production line in Caihong Hefei production base, and the products have been certified by mainstream panel users to achieve batch and stable supply.
