CTOnews.com February 6 news, Samsung Electronics carrier board factory Samsung Motor plans to develop more ABF carrier board applications. According to the company's statement, Samsung Motor is optimistic about server car demand this year.

In 2022, Samsung Motor shipped the server application ABF carrier board for the first time. Sales in the packaging solutions division rose 0.2 per cent year-on-year last year, thanks to increased supply of Netcom and automotive FCBGA, according to Samsung Motor's results.

Samsung Electric said it expects demand for some applications such as mobile phones and personal computers to decline this year, but the high-end board market for servers and cars is expected to continue to grow, CTOnews.com has learned.

In the fourth quarter of 2022, Samsung Motor sales were 1.9684 trillion won (currently about 10.807 billion yuan), down 19% from a year earlier, while operating profit was 101.2 billion won (currently about 556 million yuan), down 68% from a year earlier, according to the financial report.

Samsung Electric previously pointed out that due to the slowdown in demand for jackets and the seasonal off-season, the supply of major products such as MLCC (multilayer ceramic capacitors) and camera modules and BGA (packaging substrates for mobile devices) for IT decreased in the fourth quarter, and the results were lower than in the previous quarter and last year.
