CTOnews.com, February 6, Boeing announced today that the third phase of the expansion project of Tianjin Boeing Composite Co., Ltd. (Tianjin Boeing) has been completed and is expected to be put into use in the middle of this year.
As a joint venture between Boeing and China Aviation Industry Corporation, Tianjin Boeing is mainly engaged in the manufacturing and assembly of civil aircraft composite parts. The third phase of Tianjin Boeing's expansion, launched in 2019, aims to more than double the plant's current production space and set up a number of new work areas and amenities.
CTOnews.com learned that Tianjin Boeing was founded in 1999 and delivered its 1 million product in 2017. So far, Tianjin Boeing has produced more than 1.6 million pieces, providing support for all Boeing civil aircraft models in production.
Boeing said it delivered its first aircraft, the Boeing 707, to China in 1973. Today, Boeing aircraft has become the main force of China's air passenger and cargo system. China is involved in the manufacture of all Boeing aircraft in production, including 737, 767, 777 and 787 Dreamliners.
