CTOnews.com Feb. 6-Dell Technologies Inc. is cutting about 6650 jobs in the face of slumping PC demand, becoming the latest technology company to announce layoffs, Bloomberg reported.

CTOnews.com has learned that Dell co-chief operating officer Jeff Clarke wrote in a memo that the company is experiencing a market environment of "continued erosion and uncertainty." The layoffs represent about 5% of Dell's global workforce, according to a company spokesman.

According to Trudup statistics, 175 technology companies have laid off jobs since 2023, affecting 57914 people; in 2022, 1525 technology companies laid off jobs, affecting more than 230,000 people.
