CTOnews.com February 6 news, according to the investor relations activity records disclosed by Lan Qi Technology, Lan Qi Technology recently said in an institutional survey that the company announced in September 2022 that it was the first in the industry to launch the engineering sample of the first generation of DDR5 clock driver (referred to as CKD chip), and has sent samples to the mainstream memory manufacturers in the industry, which will be used for the memory of a new generation of desktops and notebooks.

According to reports, in the early days of DDR5, the UDIMM and SODIMM modules of desktop desktops and notebooks need to be matched with a PMIC and a SPD, but do not need a CKD chip for the time being. When the DDR5 data rate reaches 6400MT / s or above, the PC memory, such as the UDIMM and SODIMM modules of desktops and notebooks, must use a special clock driver chip (CKD chip) to buffer and redrive the clock signal on the memory module to meet the requirements of high-speed clock signal integrity and reliability.

CTOnews.com learned that Lan Qi Technology said that CKD chips will be a new increment for the industry, when the annual industry demand for CKD will be positively related to the number of DDR5 UDIMM and SODIMM needed in that year (the support rate is 6400MT / s and above). Lanqi Technology plans to complete the research and development of mass production version of CKD chip and achieve shipment by the end of 2023.

In addition, Lan Qi Technology pointed out that the company's first-generation AI chip has completed the flow of the engineering sample chip as scheduled by the end of 2022, and a series of testing, verification, sample delivery and other work will be carried out in the follow-up, and it will take time for the company's first-generation AI chip to be mass produced.
