CTOnews.com learned that the KasperskyOS system was launched as early as 2016, but no one has been paying attention to it, mainly because the supporting facilities of the system are not perfect, and the application ecology is the difficulty, so Kaspersky began to develop its own app store in 2021, and there is already a demo version, which is testing its performance.

According to Dmitry Lukiyan, head of Kaspersky operating system platform solutions, the KasperskyOS App Store has three main sections for developers, users and management devices.

The first section is for the developer portal, which mainly introduces what KasperskyOS is and all the information about its target users, such as basic information such as how the software is used and how to program the environment, while the second section is the customer portal, where potential customers can familiarize themselves with the software already available. The third section is a tool that allows users to manage the lifecycle of applications through a Kaspersky integrated security center.

It's worth mentioning that any developer can now fill in the app directory, and while third-party operating systems are currently supported, Kaspersky also stressed that the app store is planned to be only compatible with KasperskyOS in the future.

It is said that Kaspersky plans to make money from its catalog because they will distribute the catalog by selling licenses for their software.

To put it simply, Kaspersky will check the application for the directory before it is released, because there may be malware in App. In addition, they also check the compatibility of their App with different versions of KasperskyOS and whether the software meets the requirements of developers (released when Marketplace is available), and plans to launch a full-featured enterprise software catalog version of the new operating system from late 2023 to early 2024.

Kaspersky says the directory management plan is implemented in Kaspersky Security Center. Now there are "Aprotech" gateways on the market to control the operation of the machine.

It is expected that the first product connected to the Kaspersky catalog will be the Kaspersky IoT Secure Gateway 1000 for the Industrial Internet of things, mainly network devices used to combine sensors and transmit data from them, and the software will later appear in the "all Network Immunization Solutions based on the Kaspersky operating system" directory.
