CTOnews.com February 5, Qualcomm Technologies announced the launch of the latest intelligent video collaboration solution Qualcomm QCS8250 video collaboration reference design, using an integrated software and hardware platform, equipped with terminal-side AI and camera, native support for unified communications applications.

Qualcomm says the solution is designed to enhance virtual conferencing and collaboration in today's modern hybrid office environment.

Qualcomm's QCS8250 video collaboration reference design combines audio, video and AI technologies to reduce interference, increase productivity and immerse virtual conference participants, while live attendees can easily interact with colleagues on the screen.

The integrated reference design is designed for large and medium-sized conference rooms to run unified communications applications natively or in terminal mode in meetings initiated by the PC side. This platform leverages Qualcomm's AI suite for video collaboration / videoconferencing to provide customizable terminal-side AI features designed to enhance the videoconferencing experience, including:

AI group view: Qualcomm's video AI technology automatically detects people in the conference room and smoothly zooms in or out through three ultra-high-definition cameras (ultra-wide-angle, wide-angle and telephoto) to provide the best view of all attendees.

AI spokesperson view: by combining Qualcomm's audio capture and video AI technology and switching almost seamlessly between three 4K UHD cameras, the platform is able to identify and zoom in on the speaker to provide a more detailed close-up of the speaker.

AI noise suppression: noise suppression technology based on state-of-the-art neural networks separates the speaker's voice and eliminates the interference of background noise, such as opening food packaging, turning pages, pressing a pen or typing on a keyboard, without the need for multiple microphones as required by traditional solutions.

In addition, the Qualcomm QCS8250 AI framework is designed in a modular manner, making it easy for third-party independent software providers to support other AI features.

Qualcomm QCS8250 video collaboration reference design has been pre-certified and tested by Microsoft Microsoft Teams as a ready-to-use platform that enables OEM vendors to quickly create, customize and release new videoconferencing products with the latest AI audio and video features.

Qualcomm QCS8250 video collaboration reference design is now available. CTOnews.com learned that Lenovo has launched a display based on the scheme, the ThinkSmart View Plus, which sells for $2345 (currently about 15829 yuan).
