The first domestic ECMO is jointly built by the National High performance Medical device Innovation Center, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenzhen Mairui Biomedical Electronics Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Hannuo Medical Technology Co., Ltd. The team continues to tackle key problems in the research and development of key technologies and components of ECMO equipment such as magnetic levitation centrifugal pumps, oxygenators and blood analysis sensors, in preparation for further improving product performance, and has made a lot of progress and achievements.

According to the website of the State Drug Administration, according to the needs of the prevention and control of the epidemic, in order to ensure the treatment needs of COVID-19 's critically ill patients, on January 4, 2023, the State Drug Administration reviewed and urgently approved the application for registration of extracorporeal cardiopulmonary support equipment and disposable membrane oxygenator kit of Shenzhen Hannuo Medical Technology Co., Ltd. For adult patients with acute respiratory failure or acute cardiopulmonary failure, other treatments are difficult to control and have a foreseeable risk of continuous deterioration or death. As the first domestic ECMO equipment and consumables kit, the above products have independent intellectual property rights, and their performance indicators basically reach the level of similar international products.

CTOnews.com learned that extracorporeal cardiopulmonary support equipment consists of mainframe, pump driver, emergency pump driver, spare battery, flow bubble sensor and so on. The disposable membrane oxygenator kit is composed of membrane oxygenator and arteriovenous pipeline assembly (including centrifugal pump head), pre-charging pipeline assembly, accessories kit assembly and oxygen pipeline.

ECMO products, as salvage treatment equipment for critical COVID-19 patients who are ineffective in conventional treatment, are clear treatment measures in COVID-19 's diagnosis and treatment plan. the listing of domestic products will play an important role in meeting clinical urgent needs, ensuring the treatment of COVID-19 's critically ill patients, and ensuring the implementation of the goal of "health protection and prevention of critical illness" in epidemic prevention and control.
