CTOnews.com February 4 news, BMW i4 owner Clare Eliza recently received a confusing notice: "the road is too steep to start the upgrade program. Please park the vehicle in a flat area and update it." In other words, the BMW i4 cannot perform updates when it is parked on a steep slope.

"the BMW i4 is equipped with a variety of sensors such as pitching, yaw, horizontal and longitudinal acceleration and deceleration, and the car can detect whether it is parked on a flat road," a BMW spokesman said. this is a safety precaution to prevent vehicles from being upgraded normally in bad situations and to avoid landslides and other conditions that affect system upgrades.

The vehicle will not upgrade until an available software update is detected.

It needs to be downloaded in advance. When connected to the Internet through a mobile phone or BMW Connected App, the download is fully automatic.

The vehicle must have sufficient electricity.

Vehicles cannot be parked on a steep slope.

Must be in the P gear.

The engine must be turned off.
