CTOnews.com Feb. 4 News Valve updated its game middleware today with the release of the Proton 7.0-6 update. This update is based on the new version of Wine and improves Steam Play, allowing players to run Windows games more smoothly on Linux.

The Proton 7.0-6 update began beta testing late last year and is now upgraded to stable. This update allows players to play more Windows games on Linux.

Proton 7.0-6 also fixes Ubisoft Connect launcher glitches, fixes texture issues in the Quake III Arena menu area, fixes multiple Microsoft Flight Simulator issues, and a host of other game fixes. Proton 7.0-6 also ships with Wine Mono 7.4 and DXVK-NVAPI 0.6.
